An Unforgettable Experience

Five days to heal, deepen your connection and make your relationship flourish with leading marital therapist and best-selling author Andrew G Marshall.

In this five-day retreat, he will lead a small group of couples (approximately fifteen) through a series of workshops and rituals that help you look at your relationship through fresh eyes, ask searching questions and reconnect with each other.

There will be free time to bond, a jacuzzi and sauna in the evening and a lake to swim in – all in a protected nature reserve.

What makes this retreat special is that you will not only learn from Andrew and his team, but from the other couples going through the process alongside you.

Please note:

  • There will no individual or couple therapy sessions because you will get as many insights from the group as from Andrew.
  • Each couple will have their own private room (with en-suite facilities) to withdraw and try the more intimate exercises.
  • The retreat is open to all couples – heterosexual, gay and lesbian.

Arrival time on Thursday 11th of June is early afternoon and the departure time on Monday 15th is after lunch.

"Andrew and his team have crafted a unique experience to cut through delusion and arrive at a deep personal truth." R. (45, UK)

Andrew G. Marshall

I am a marital therapist based in Berlin with almost forty years helping couples and individuals make better relationships.

I am the author of twenty-plus self help books, translated into twenty languages including I Love You But I’m Not In Love With You and the host of the award-nominated podcast The Meaningful Life with Andrew G Marshall.

I decided to offer this retreat because many of my couples find it hard to set aside time for bonding in their everyday life and the demands of work and family.

There are skills I can only teach within a group environment, not in the intimacy of the one-to-one session. The group allows us to learn from each other – it is often easier to spot our own issues in other people.

In addition, I have also benefited myself from the immersion of a retreat – away from everyday life – to recharge and go deeper.

What are the benefits of the retreat?

Reconnect and develop new bonds

Life experiences and the passing of time means that we are not the same people we were when we first met our partner.

However, your relationship can get stuck in what used to work rather than what you need now. Different life stages – like children leaving home – bring new challenges.

Sadly, there are few safe spaces to discuss these changes and face our fears about the inevitable disruptions.

"Deep, transformative and emotional." H. (44, Germany)

Find out who you are today

  • Get a better sense of how you have changed
  • Learn what you need today and how to communicate it in a kind and respectful way
  • Listen with an open heart to what your partner needs
  • Find out how to negotiate and manage differences
  • Create the relationship that works for today
"A year's worth of therapy in four days." K. (50, Sweden)

Work on your personal development

  • Experience a like-minded and encouraging community
  • Get to know your true inner self and make peace with your lost inner child
  • Discover strategies for managing stress
  • By learning to open up to others in the group, you will find it easier to do the same with your partner and the other significant people in your life
  • Achieve emotional authenticity and deeper self-confidence
"Deep, transformative and emotional." H. (44, Germany)

Benefit from a holistic approach

  • Immersion in nature
  • Vegetarian food and an alcohol-free space
  • Digital detox
  • Psychological work – how to achieve balance both internally and in your relationship
  • Spiritual work – I will be using Jungian tools like Active Imagination to guide you on a vision quest
  • Connect with eternal truths at the evening firepit– since the beginning of time, we have gathered round fires to tell stories and share wisdom
  • Access your creativity through a guided practice to access physical movement and unleash your singing voice within the group

Frequently Asked Questions

Why offer a choice of indoor and outdoor options for the retreat?

Because the retreat includes guided exercises in intimacy, emotional closeness and sensual connection, particular care has been taken to ensure privacy, safety, and psychological containment for all couples.

Indoor accommodation:

  • All indoor accommodation is provided in double rooms with private ensuite bathrooms.
  • This ensures that each couple has a protected, uninterrupted space to continue their work together in private.

Outdoor accommodation (Caravan / Tent):

  • A limited number of caravan and tent places are available for participants who prefer a closer connection to nature and create their own loving environment.

Why do all indoor rooms have private bathrooms?

This retreat includes guided exercises that support intimacy, emotional closeness, and embodied connection between partners.

For this reason, all indoor accommodation is provided in double rooms with private ensuite bathrooms, so that each couple has a protected and uninterrupted space to continue their work together in private.

This is an essential part of creating the conditions for depth, trust, and psychological safety.

What about the caravan and tent options — are they private enough?

Yes. Although these are outdoor options, they still offer a high degree of privacy and safety.

The caravan and tent areas are:

  • Located within the retreat property
  • Clearly designated for retreat participants only
  • Not accessible to the public

The property itself is isolated within a protected biosphere, surrounded by nature and far from the nearest village. During the retreat, access to the grounds is controlled, allowing couples to feel undisturbed and held by the setting.

Will we have enough privacy to do the exercises properly?

Yes. Privacy has been carefully considered in both the accommodation and the overall design of the retreat.

Between:

  • Private ensuite rooms for all indoor accommodation
  • Protected outdoor areas for caravans and tents
  • The secluded natural environment

Why is privacy treated as such a priority?

Because meaningful relational work does not happen through techniques alone.

It requires:

  • A sense of safety
  • Clear boundaries
  • Space away from everyday distractions

The structure of this retreat — including accommodation choices — is designed to support those conditions, so couples can focus on reconnecting with each other rather than worrying about everyday matters.

"I would recommend it to anybody looking to turn up more powerfully and consciously in their lives." K. (50, Sweden)
